Problem Based Learning Philosophy

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is the philosophical basis for education at College-Now Engineering Academy. We believe that learning is enhanced by working on real-world engineering problems that are presented to the students by our business partners and by engineering curiosities brought by the students themselves. PBL problems have no set answer so the students must explore possibilities through critical thinking. Unlike lab exercises or projects, the PBL problems are ill-structured. Many paths must be followed to completion. It is not our purpose to train students in classical ways of problem solving; i.e. pencil and paper word problems. We promote PBL so our students can think and create on their own.
